    Default Is This Game Beatable?

I would like to play some live cash poker and when I was at the gutshot they were offering a £50 buy in NL cash table - blinds were 25-50p.

The game was self dealt with we will assume 6 players and a table charge of £3 per hour.

My thinking here was: As game is live anyway it will be interupted as players join etc. Self dealt will mean slower deals and higher chance of misdeals, disputes etc.

Now my thinking and this may be wrong is that you will do well to get 100 hands in 3 hours. Is this too low?

If my estimate is correct then you will need to win £9 (18BB) in 100 hands to just break even - somewhat unlikely at a Poker Club, I would have thought.

Even if you could manage 50 hands per hour that is 12bb/100 in house vigorish.

thats a low house toke. in the states its $10 an hour. Casino poker and online poker are sooooooo different you can't compare them.

unless the guys are all nits this game should be beatable. forget the blind level here, go by the buy-in. these introductory level NL games are gold mines. in a $100 buy in game in the states you can make $20 an hour easy. this game is probably better since the blinds are so low.

watch the game a bit and see what the avg pot is, if it's low than avoid it. if its $20 then sit down, you'll only have to win 1 pot every 2 hours (or 50 hands or so) to make money.

your paying $6 in rake losing about $5 in blinds and we'll say $5 more in missed flops.

Like I said watch the game and then decide
