If 2.5 is picking up the blinds, 2.5 is picking up the blinds. I'll adjust upward when it's not.

I am raising any two from the CO and button when folded about 70-80%. Raising 4x each time means I'm taking an unnecessary risk. Altering my raise size based on hand strength gives away too much.

I also don't mind playing a pot HU with a hand as strong as KQo. If my 2.5 raise induces a weak hand to call that wouldn't c all at 4x, all the better. I don't necessarily want KQ to just take down the blinds.

Call 1250 to win 1800.
You need to win 70% of the time to be EV+

I think you can discount the possibility of him having an Ace, KK or QQ.
So he either has a pp or he doesn't (yes, obvious)

When he doesn't, he has either K high, Q high or 2 live cards:
vs 2 live cards (10% of the time - HoH bluff %): you win about 75% Equity: 7.5
vs Kx or Qx (90%): he has 3 outs to win, 3+ to tie (K/Q or pair runners): Equity: about 72.5

So, when he doesn't have pp, you are 80% to win

Against any pp you have 7 outs; you are 28% to win

In summary:

If he has pp 1 out of 5 times (20%) or more, it is an EV- call.

IMO, he will have a pocket pair at least 20% of the time, so (despite the outcome) you probably should have folded.
