I donked away the rest of my chips a few hands later, and end up 22nd

Should i have just let go?

Check/fold this flop at this stage in tourney.
That's my play.

i'd like to hear more about your thinking with the check-call on the turn? What are you trying to accomplish with that move?

I push pre-flop.
Terri has a small stack compared to the blinds.

Given the structure of the payouts and your chip position, I would have just called preflop out of the big blind, last to act and out of position. Then check/fold if you don't hit the flop. If it were a regular tourney payoff then I think your play is fine preflop/flop. In a satellite like this with your chip position I get in cheap and don't play unless I hit a flop unless I have a preflop monster.
I agree with PTP above that I don't get the check/call on the turn. I would have put the guy on a medium pocket pair. You donked off alot of chips.

I was tempted to fold, but I just felt commited, probably unnecessarily, to the pot.
I probably was in a position where i could have afforded to let him take the pot when i missed the flop...it was nice to know my read was right, but there were more important considerations to attend to...
I was in similar situation a couple of works ago, but took the opposite approach and started playing very tight, folding preflop AK in EP etc. and i ended up going out on the bubble because i misjudged how long the touney would carry on for and passed up my last two good chances to win more chips.
if i had to play the hand again, i would probably just push allin preflop...but i suspect he would have called anyway...I love him who is ashamed when the dice fall in his favour and who then asks: Am I then a cheat? for he wants to perish.

I hear what you are saying, because I have done the same thing in a satellite before and finished on the bubble, but:

AQs is a good hand, but you are out of position against someone UTG that limped with a pretty low stack, usually has a decent hand, alot of people have medium pocket pairs in this circumstance, you have to think you needed to improve to win.
I would bide my time and if I felt like I needed to win some more chips to place at least pick a spot where I had a made hand preflop like a pocket pair in later position and push preflop instead of calling off chips with a hand like AQ unimproved out of position.

you're probably right...i think i took it too personally, i felt that i KNEW i had the better hand i wanted to make him pay, when i could easily have walked away.
Anyway, in another sat now for same tourney...1st out of 15 left, top 5 get through...if i stuff this one up then i'm officailly a donkeyI love him who is ashamed when the dice fall in his favour and who then asks: Am I then a cheat? for he wants to perish.

I check fold after the flop. Doesn't matter if you're ahead it's about qualifying.
Good luck tonight.
