Default Did I fold too soon? Flop trip 7s

Playing Hold-em with 8 players. $2 max pre-flop and on the flop and $4 max on turn and river.

So I get 7 7 in the hole (my best starting hand of the night). It's checked around to me so I open for $2. Everyone stays in. That's the kind of people that I'm playing with, they stay in with 2 6 off-suit.

So the Flop comes: 3 7 10 of spades (3 spades). So I got trip 7s but there is a strong flush draw out there. It's bet $2 and I raise it to $4 to go. And 6 guys call. So it's 7 of us in at the turn.

The Turn comes K of spades (making it 4 spades). So some guy bets $4 and some guys raises making it $8 to me. Now I figure everyone except me has a flush. $8 is a good bit of my bankroll plus I figure I'm beat by all these Flushes. So I fold.

The River comes out a 7 which would give me an unbeatable hand (four 7s) against all these jack-offs with Flushes.

I figure the pot was about $120 with all these clowns turning over their flush cards.

    What should I have done?

Should I have stuck for the slim chance of a 7 or maybe the board pairs to give me a boat?

Are the odds vs the risk any good drawing to trips against so many flushes?

Now I see the reward is very good b/c they all think their flush is good and they will call down.

I went on tilt after that.

you had about an 21% chance to hit a boat or better. that is about 3.6:1

the pot was laying you well over 10:1 yes you should have called.

    Thanks.

So I should call for chance to beat a flush, but what if I go against a bigger boat? Is that something I should worry about? I was 3rd highest possible trip on the board.

    Someone could have had K 10 (2 pair) or 10 10 (etc..)

    wow.

You need a poker book boss... something with a good section on odds, expected value, and whatnot. Pretty much anything will do... you've got a ways to go :/
-You may not know this, but poker is a game of incomplete information.
