If I hit a set with a low PP and my opponent hits a higher one, I am most likely going broke on that hand.

My train leaves in 30 minutes.............time to get back on the horse!!!!!
Now if only I can truly not try to win it all back in one session I may actually play some good poker. This whole afternoon has been like a mental enema. I hope I flushed all the tilt right out of my system.

What really sucks is I that I don't think I played badly.....maybe one hand where i made a few marginal calls on a draw...other than that I played aggressive PF when I had something worth raising...missed my flops (every one)...fired post flop when the situation was right and ended up losing the pots to someone playing rags who hit the flop.
All in all a very bland session of poker with no cards worth talking about.
I watched some total loser come in and call off his whole stack to everyone at the table except me. When I had a hand he actually had one....every other time he was bluffing off his stack to everyone around me.
I am going to drink very much tonight and stay away from the tables.

Time to take a day or two off from poker. Your confidence is busted and you need to take a break from the punishment you've been getting. Come back after couple days off with a fresh/rested mind.
As for the math I believe it's 80-82% that a flopped set will win by the river - of course this also means it will lose up to 20% of the time too! You just seem to be lumping that 20% all together lately!
If it helps any I was busted out of a SnG today on the first hand w/A-A by a donk who called (5xBB raise) from the BB with J-7o and hit 2 pair! Next tourney (at least I make it to 4th place) I lose to a LA (that I wanted to bust sooooo baddddd) w/K-K after he goes all-in with Q-To after he paired the Q on the flop - then paired the T on the turn- ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!

In HoH2, Harrington says something along the lines of "when you flop set over set, you're supposed to lose a lot of chips. When ever I hear someone tell a story about how someone flop middle or bottom set and though some series of logic lay it down, my reponse is always 'idiot'".

Most books and info I have read say you should always get in with a pocket pair if you can for cheap.

So this mornings commute saw me pick up KK on my 3rd hand..........
I run into pocket aces and get stacked for me full $20 buy in...........
I reloaded and managed to win back $1.50 for a net loss on the way to work of $18.50.
How many more statistical anomalies can i encounter during this run?
I am going to post this hand in a different thread because I played it strangely.

I remember I asked this question once, and the general opinion was... call PF if you have decent pot odds and never fold a set thinking you are VS over set...
cant rove it mathematicaly, but i'm pretty sure they were right.
