Default Correct me....

PL o H/L hand, I get A367 ds on the button, I limp along with 4 others.

Flop comes 45J, giving me the nut flush, nut straight and second nut low draws, I bet out right?

I get 2 callers and only end up with 250TC (a pitance) after it comes runnign threes to fill up the guy who called (and reraised allin) with 55xx 3 suited, and the guy who called both bets (all-in) with A2xx 4 suited.

Who got un/lucky here?

Caveat: I've never...NEVER...played H/L pot-limit. Just the concept sounds like the closest thing you can get to the lotto with a deck of cards (well, aside from no-limit H/L). Anyhow, this is just based on what common sense tells me, not r/l experience...I'm strictly a limit H/L player.

Now, with that out of the way and all the draws that you've got, heck yes you have to bet and then call when it gets pushed all-in on you. It's a basic "Rule of 13" situation -- you've easily got more than 13 outs to what you feel will be a winning hand, so you're justified in calling a pot-sized bet. You could argue that the rule of 13 doesn't apply here like it does in straight Omaha because of the possibility of a split pot (and from a theoretical standpoint, I think you'd be right, but that's a discussion for another thread), but once a third person jumps into the fray you're definitely covered and the play becomes a longterm winner in this never-ending poker game we play.

Bad break.

Well, they weren't horrible calls by them. The guy with the set will have 10 outs going into the river. He knows his set of 5's are in the lead, because you wouldn't play JJ in Hi/Lo. Best case for him, you have 444. The guy with A2 is guaranteed to split with any low card. This wasn't a great call, but it wasn't horrible.

It is still a tough break though. Your bet was good.

That is not true. A hand like A2JJ, KQJJ QJJT AKJJ are all playable. Not only that, people play complete garbage in this game - JJ72.

Playing 55xx isnt that good, because there wil always be some kind of low draw if you make your trips. He has 7 outs for the turn and 10 outs for the river.

The A2xx call was bad, he was calling all of his money with only a 50% chance of getting half the pot. He only had 2 or 3 scoop outs.

Marm was about 40% to win against the 3 and abotu 2:1 on just the fives.
