Default bad beat or bad play?

I had played mabye two hands during the first 35 minutes of this tourny dur to an amazing run of cards, only for this to happen.

Full Tilt Poker
No Limit Holdem Tournament
Blinds: t30/t60
8 players
Converter

Stack sizes:
UTG: t4575
UTG+1: t4170
Hero: t1075
MP2: t1170
CO: t5370
Button: t5705
SB: t3030
BB: t3340

Pre-flop: (8 players) Hero is MP1 with
UTG folds, UTG+1 calls t60, Hero calls t60, MP2 folds, CO calls t60, Button calls t60, SB calls t30, BB checks.

Flop: (t360, 6 players)
SB checks, BB checks, UTG+1 bets t175, Hero raises to t500, CO folds, Button calls t500, 2 folds, UTG+1 calls t325.

Turn: (t1860, 3 players)
UTG+1 is all-in t3610, Hero calls all-in t515, Button calls t3610.

River: (t9595, 1 player + 2 all-in - Main pot: t3405, Sidepot 1: t6190)

Results:
Final pot: t9595
UTG+1 showed Qs As
Hero showed 7s 7h
Button showed Jd 8d

I knew I was dead when the turn hit, but felt I couldnt fold it there since the board could still pair on the river. Should I have pushed on the flop? Was the button justified in his call? Raise pf?

As much as I like that hand it's a tough raise PF form that position... more than half the deck are overcards to you, you're really hoping to make a set. Your bet on the flop basically commited you to the pot, being the short stack at the table I probably would've went AI on the flop.

Ur SS here so u need to go all in on the flop. If u raise and it gets called, ur all in on the turn anyways, might as well push it all in on the flop. Chances are the AQ would have called you and u would have doubled up.

PF: Fine play

Flop: Get it allin here. This isn't the greatest flop and you want the draws out going to the turn. Best way to do this is to push after UTG bets. Not guaranteed that the button would have folded though. Not much you could have done.

with the raise of 500, you leave yourself with much less than half the pot on the turn. you want to create incorrect pot odds for the draw he had, and you gave him nearly 4-1 on the turn with the AI(if he didnt have the flush). i like the raise on the flop IF you have enough chips to protect your hand on the turn.

ty for the input, definatly should have pushed on the flop, I guess that play is a result of all the cash games I've been playing recently where I'd be able to fold when the flush hit on the turn.

ps: any idea what UTG+1 was thinking?

pot = 360 + 175 = 535 + 500 = 1035
Your raise of 500 gave pot odds of 1035 to 500 or about 2:1 to call so button was not making a good call for a flush draw. With the button calling, UTG was getting 1535 to 500 for about 3:1 to call.

Had you gone all-in pot odds would have been: 360 + 175 = 535 + 1015 = 1540 giving pot odds to the button of 1540 to 1015 or about 1.5:1 - very bad odds to call on a flush draw.

Don't you just hate it when the brain-dead get rewarded for playing badly? Don't get me wrong, I don't mind guys playing badly but it drives me to distraction when they get rewarded for it at my expense!

Yea, my raise on the flop was aimed at giving slightly incorrect odds for the flush draw, definatly more of a cash game play. Worst part is, after that pot the button was chip leader and like three ppl at the table told him "nice hand".
