I always seem to be in spots where I hit my set (or strt, or top 2 pr, etc.) and there are 2 of the same suit on brd. Fearing the flush I bet too much on the flop to take away odds and end up scaring everyone away.
I don't know the answer. I always feel i left money on the table.

I do the same thing when 2 of the same suit flops, come to think of it I would've bet the flop myself, unless it was a rainbow flop. After Cricket checked it though his money card hit on the turn so like I said earlier I'd love to see him make his flush.

I've always done the same thing, and read something recently that turned the light on for me. You DO want to take the odds away from a flush draw, but I would tend to bet too much, usually something around the pot. Something close to 1/2 the pot takes away the odds from a flush draw, but it's low enough that people might still chase (which is what you want).

I'm not sure I like the check on the flop. Normally slowplaying a set isn't a bad idea, but here you've got two hearts on the board - I get itchy that I'm giving a flush draw a free chance to beat me.
On the turn, you've hit your money card. I'd just call, hoping he puts me on some kind of draw and bets into me again on the river.

Thanks all!
tight:
I've got the nuts, don't I? I want as much money in the pot as possible, right? So don't I want people to pick up a good card?

You dont have the nuts, KK is the nuts on the flop....and 33 is the nuts on the turn. But bet the flop for sure, a heart comes and your set is in tough.
