Even in postion, I'll fold for 15% of my stack.

I'd say I'm folding this to a raise from someone in EP with that stack. If I had a bigger stack I'd consider calling. Overall though with small pairs I want to see a cheap flop against limpers, not something I want against a raise from UTG.

Easy fold - UTG big raise and 2 callers. 7.5:1 to catch a set and there are 12 pairs better than yours. The only thing you have going for you is position and that's not enough.

Next move:

My first inclination was to fold, but after considering it for about a second, I realized that UTG+1 (in the 5 seat, not the 4 seat whose hand shakes) probably had AK or a big pair. I figured that I'm already getting 3.5:1 on my money, I could certainly make another 800 (giving me the 7.5:1 odds I need) and likely double my stack if I hit. If not, I'd fold on the flop and lay back for something more solid.

I call. SB folds, BB folds. Flop comes:

$875 in the pot. It checks around to me. There's my third duece sitting on the table. Flop didn't seem to help anyone, and they seem to be playing it conservatively at this level. What do we do now?

I would have folded that hand only for the reason im wanting to play it safe. With his raise im sure he has something better than a pair of deuces which is the reason i would fold. Luck isnt always on my side unfortunately!

You've come this far, now lets trap them for some more cash. I am not too afraid of this board, lets check behind and hope someone makes a play on the turn.

Good flop. You're only behind if someone is slow playing 5s or 9s. Only possible draw would be a gutshot str8 if someone has 67 or 78. Very unlikely that this flop hit anyone. Classic situation of being either way ahead or way behind.

Options:
check - tempting to slow play here. Maybe someone gets a piece of the turn and will bet out. However, any pp that spikes a set on the turn will be a disaster.
probe bet (200-400) - builds the pot; still hard for anyone to put you on your hand; pp are still likely to stay in the hand and maybe AK sticks around; very good chance big pp reraises.
larger bet (500-1000) - looks more like your trying to buy the pot; makes you pot committed; 1 caller or reraiser is ideal, gives you best chance to double up; could end up scooping pot (could you have won more?)

I don't think any move here is wrong. Most of the time, I concur with Irexes, bet around 200-400. Also, if you end up showing down and winning, your flop bets are going to carry more weight going forward.
