Try not to play towards PT ratings. Those are mainly for catergorizing other players. Adjust your play if you see errors, not because PT says so. A good or bad run of cards early enough can really throw off your PT numbers, and adjusting your play can lead to bad results.

Congrats Fools-Gold.

Good point Marm. When I finally became an online winning low stakes (.50/$1 limit) player, my PT rating with your rules had me as sLA-P or slightly loose agressive-passive. I couldn't stand that passive part and my game IMO is far from "loose" and was determined to tighten up and be more agressive. Then I realized that wasn't necessarily a good idea, since I was playing winning poker and I hadn't determined that it was a leak in my game. Not saying it wasn't a leak but I realized I had come to the conclusion in the wrong way. Over time, as I became more confident and I felt my skills reading other players increased a little ( and with PAHUD's help) I started becoming more agressive post flop. I looked up one day and noticed I had now become sLA-A and I'm winning even more now than I was before.

I just got back into the game, and my first 4k hands put me on TAP, and I was like breaking even.

Sure 4k hands is a bad sample size, but I asked myself what I could do differently, that'd make me more TAG, and more money.

Well, it didn't take long to realize that in those 4k hands I hardly ever bet draws, and NEVER bet middle pair. I adjusted, and it has been a nice change to my game.

Cheers,

Mike

Mike: resurrected! How are things man?

I think a variety of styles can be profitable. I just feel that the tight/aggressive game is the best model for a winning player.

Pretty good, pretty good.

I got pretty addicted to WoW. Fortunately a few RL things came up that got in the way for my raiding schedule, so i decided to give it up.

I'm really curious how everyone's poker's doing. All the old school PFO guys, wanna know what limits y'all are at now.

Before my break from poker, I was playing 2/4 limit. Now though since i've come back i'm playing 1/2 limit. Which's goinng well so far. If things go well I'll be back at 2/4 soon enough, just gotta remove all this rust and get some hands under my belt .

Cheers,

Mike

PS. Does vense still play?

WoW ate a huge chunk out of my life, but I broke the habit last September. I was becoming a slave to the game.

It's the first, and last MMORPG I'll ever play. I spent soooo much time playing and doing the endgame content, while fun and challenging, it's just sooo time consuming.

I am glad I stopped playing it.

Cheers,

Mike

And in the end all you get is carpal tunnel. At least with poker you can pay for the surgery after.
