Mik1w, I'm going to go out on a limb here because I think I've got read on you.lol I bet it is safe to say that you are not a self-employed business owner, nor do you work for someone else where you are allowed to see the actual costs associated with owning and operating a business. Why do I bet that? You said.....

Compare Poker Tracker to other software... compare the price to other software. Compare it to a computer game, where you have a team of people working for years, and a computer game can cost half of the price of this software. So if you look at production costs ALONE, it doesnt justify the price.

That has to be the silliest business related comment I've heard in years. Those comments are so easily discredited that their funny. The quick answer is this. A software company designing a computer game will in fact have teams of people spending a year or more making a new game. True. And they will sell it for less than $55 (I guess, I'm not a gamer). But, while unlikely, let's say they sell it as cheap as half the price of PT. There is one MAJOR difference here....the software company knows they are going to sell hundreds upon hundreds of thousands of copies of that one game. They are making big bucks because of volume and that volume allows them to sell their product cheaper. If they had that same team of people building that same game and knew they'd only sell a few thousand copies, the game would cost $500 or more, just to cover their costs. Production costs can be greatly hidden and dispersed when you sell in volume. This is simple business theory.
And yes I am self employed and my wife and I own several small businesses. If you don't like PT's price, don't buy it, but it is accepted and embraced in the online poker community as THE stat tracking software of choice. No need to bash Pat, a hard working business man producing a great product at a fair price.
