What is the concept of the ante? Simply put, player involvement. As you progress in betting structure levels in a tournament, somewhere around level 6 or so you start having antes thrown in to serve the same purpose as the higher and higher blinds. That purpose is, of course, to make the pot not only worth fighting for, but necessary to fight for as your turn on the blind eats more and more out of your stack. The antes make sure the whole table is involved, so you don't get a free pass to fold if you're not in the blinds. Especially critical to shortstacks.

I think that is what you were asking. And for the record, "ring game" is not the same as Multitable Tournament. Ring games are cash games that you enter and exit at will, like sitting down at a cash poker table.

if there was no ante, or blinds, ppl like me would just sit around (not even play Aces b/c they are like only 80% to win).

It is auto-posted. It is a secondary forced bet that involves the entire table in the pot to some degree.

If any player doesn't have many chips, whether it is enough to post ante or a blind, then you treat it as you wish. If you feel like attempting to knock them out, then the same decisions would apply to ante or blind. If they don't have enough to post ante, then they are put all in.

Also as far as I've ever seen, yeah all MTT will have an ante. They go on long enough as it is, and don't need to last days.

Thanks for reply but now consider that if among 10 players 9 go allin due to ant now how the game will start and how we declare winner as neither we have cards nor we have two person to post blinds

I don't quite understand your logic here, but if all the players are all in the cards will get flipped over and a showdown will commence between the 9 players and the best hand wins.

I suggest you read some beginner guides to hold'em

thanks aj i am studying some poker books my question is in mtt if 10 players are there and 9 players have $10 and 10th player has $100(or may be more) and again if ante is $15 then these 9 players will go for allin, this is the situation where i am confused about who will post blinds and if we declare winner then how as cards are not dealt in.
