What would you do in this situation??
So you think your good huh? Poker isn't a gamble for you because you always win well think again. These are real scenarios that had happened, the outcome will be in the next topic. See if you were right in all four of your decision at this particular situation, all outcome will be different if this do happen to you someday.
Situation #1.....You sat at a 2-5 No limit game, you started with $200.00 and you got it up to $ 4,000.00 within a 16 hour time span and your playing the best poker of your life. Your BIG BLIND, and half of the players are raising mad crazy finally before it gets to you three people goes all-in two of them have you covered by $ 1,000.00. You look down and you got wired ACES! black on black, American Airlines, Pocket Rockets. Now....... would you sacrifice all your money and time you worked for....... for this one hand knowing you have the best possible hand at that time. OR would you fold and make a safe play (are you disciplined enough to lay down ACES?)....... not knowing how the outcome might be?
Situaton #2...... Playing a 1-2 no limt game you started with $300.00, everybody has pretty much the same chip stack, your second about $ 1,200.00 within 8 hours and the tightest player at your table is the big kahuna in chips about $ 1,500.00. You're the BUTTON....First to act raises to $ 12.00, the tight player makes it $50.00 straight. It comes to you King Kong, Krispy Kreme....Pocket Kings.....Would you? reraise to three or four times the bet or just double? Just call the bet to make sure he doesn't have aces? Fold knowing your beat by the tightest player in the table with no investment whatsoever? Or go All-in and make him face the decision if he can beat your cowboys?
If you Reraised him three times the amount $ 150.00 nobody else called and The big stack goes all-in pre-flop, Would you still call or fold?
If you just called, the Flop is 4c-Jh-7d rainbow, First to act goes all in with $400.00 then Big Stack goes all-in who got you covered by a bunch, would you call hoping your cowboys are still good or fold knowing your definitely beat?
If you went all-in pre flop, the showdown would have been.... next topic.
Situation #3...... playing 1-2 no limit, started with $200.00 and built it up to $800.00 within 4 hours of play. Your first to act with AK of spades, would you just raise 6-8 times the blind? Go all in and take down $3.00? or Slow play your strong hand?
If you....
Raised pre-flop four people calls you, including the small and big blind, flop comes 10s-Js-3s, small and big blind checks to you, would you bet, slow play or go all in and take it down right there and then?
Slow played your hand everybody calls instead of just four all 9 players is now in the pot and the flop is still the same..... you flop the nut flush with the Royal with cheese draw? would you bet, slow play or go all in?
after the flop to the turn..... If you:
Slow played the turn pairs the board with the 3h, and the small blind bets out the pot, big blind goes all in with $400.00. Would you go all in behind him or fold?
Bet four people calls you including the small and big blind, same betting order as above with two more right behind you to act. Would you go all in with a pair int board or fold thinking real hard that your nut flush is no good anymore?
Went all-in, only small and big blind calls you, and they have...... next topic
Situation #4 playing 2-5 No limit texas holdem' with $900.00 in chips just sat down for a couple of hours at the Taj (very good players by just observing). You got delt with pocket 3's in the SMALL BLIND. First to act makes it $12.00 to go, 5 people calls the bet. Would you call the bet, reraise two to three times or gamble and go all-in.
Pre-flop If you....
Call, the flop comes 3d-6s-10s will you check and slow play or bet out with a decent amount bet or just plain go all in knowing you have the best hand right now.
Raised, 4 people remains in the pot with the same flop.
Slow played, the big blind bets the pot with $770.00 left, two people folds last person goes all in for $205.00. Would you reraise knowing you have the best hand, just call the bet or fold knowing that you have low set, two higher set beats you, a flush draw out there or top two pair?
Go all-in Only one player calls you and he has.... next topic
On the turn If you....
Just call, Qs show up giving the board three to the flush. Would you still check? or go all in?
In case if you did check to the big blind, He goes all in for his final five hundred something dollars. Would you be convinced that he caught his flush? Would you fold your set of three's with the river still to come? Or definitely know you have him beat and call.
