Default Sng's positioning, either worst or first!

Hey guys im making my weekly post to seek your advice on the faults in my gambling! Now im no Sng pro i play the odd 5+1 and iv knowticed, i either finish around 8th outa 10 or i finish first, i rarely finish 2 3 4 5 6 7, what does this tell me about my game? What does this tell me about the way i should play Sng's, i guess this is quite a small sample size mayb about 30 Sngs but you will find that 80% of the finishes are either 8th or first its wierd. Im still making a nice little profit out of them for my bank roll but there must be somthing wrong in the way i play them at the begining. Any suggestions?

Thanks
-Fools

Ps: no comments about grammar because i know i cant spell or do anything related to good grammar, hell i probably spelt somthing wrong in this ps.

changed to grammar thanks

Do you actually keep records, or is this just your memory working? Get some exact numbers before you try to analyze them.

It's grammar.

And I'll be the first to say that your sample is waaaaay too small to tell anything. You could play the same way in the next 30 and have completely the opposite happen

I'd guess it means you take a lot of risks early. You go to the final 3-4 with half the chips or none.

Firstly as previously stated the sample size is way too small.

But you are probabrly playing too aggresively early on. The key to success is playing tight early on.

Also why are you playing the $5+1 on PArty? Either play $5 on another site or move to the $10+$1. The 20% rake is killing you and the games play very similarlly.

Incentives is right. 20% rake for a sng is ridiculous and is what has turned me away from many sites. UB has a 5+.50 but competition is brutal.

As stated earlier the numbers are too small, but I would venture to say that you're playing too aggressive early on. Sometimes it works out for you and you end up with a big stack to play throughout the game. I would venture to say that most of the time you're losing it though and end up 8th. The advice given here was good. Play tight early on.

I think that means you are playing perfectly. The worst record would be finishing on average either 1 place outside the money or 1 place within the money.

If you had a choice you would ideally rather be out within the first 5 minutes or win every single SNG you entered. Why waste 35 mins to finish 1 place outside the money and earn $0?

It tells me you're getting too involved early in the SnGs. I find the best strategy is to sit back and only play monsters early and let the maiancs week themselves out. Then when the BB gets to around 100, start playing aggresively.

Sounds like your trying to double up, or make a big move early, and its only working some of the time.
