Somewhere buried in these grammar lessons is a thread about poker. I think it actually has something to do with how badly I have been playing lately. I have been getting sucked out on, and then try to force things like I did in the stupid ass Pocket 5 hand I posted yesterday in the thread about mid pairs.

I let the beats get into my head and stop playing good poker. Not good. Not good at all. When I am playing good I let the game come to me. I am aggressive when I should be, I am passive when its prudent, and I seem to be making all the right plays regardless of how "good" the cards are.

Then the bad beats come, and all of a sudden I am nervous making a move at any pots. Worst of all, when I have a good hand (like those trip 5's) I refuse to see that I am beat and lose my stack.

I think thats the biggest difference in my game when I am winning or losing. When I am winning I can get away from a good hand that may be beat. When I am losing I force the good hands even when i fear i may be beat..because I need to end the bad streak.

Hehehe! Despite a nice winky face to try and make it obvious....

Anyways, back to the poker.....

This is exactly my problem Ant, and I think the only cure is to keep playing as best you can, until you hit a nice result that restores your confidence. Since I finished 13th the other night, I have been playing more like my old self, winning SNGs and getting my bankroll back.
