When you go through a period where the underdog is consistently beating you, it likely affects your emotional state of mind. As a result, your play can be affected and the unfortunate part is it may be affected without you knowing it. Tilt can manifest itself anywhere from steaming mad to subtle enough to make the odd wrong decision.
Most of the time, a break from poker is in order until you feel sharp again and completely over any emotional residue.

I play the Blackjack at Paradise to get my stake back. Works most of the time.

Yeah me and Gryff had some fun donking it up on stars yesterday!
There's nothing wrong with your game from where I was sitting mate. I mean, you beat me both times! I got sucked out by a 2 outer on the river, but in the second game I was just plain shit.
I know just how you feel...for the last 2-3 weeks or so I have had shit luck and really bad cards. My bankroll has all but been destroyed. It erodes my confidence and throws my game right off. I play weak when I should be aggressive, and get aggressive when I should be backing off. I go into sort of semi tilt and can't let go of flush draws, or hands that are clearly dead after the flop.
You sit there all day getting shite cards then someone sucks out on your aces...or you raise with QQ get 5 callers and the flop is A-K-x...all suited to one of the suits you don't have....these kinda things have happened so much lately I have not even wanted to play poker, for fear of what might happen!
Well last night I did a $5 multi on stars....1193 entrants and I managed to come 13th. I played quite well....but most importantly I administered a couple of almighty bad beats...went all-in with K10 short stacked, called by AK, hit a 10 on the river...then later against the same guy - 88 vs KK, an 8 on the flop, boy did the guy get the hump...
Well I feel much better! Hopefully now I've turned the corner...tonight I actually enjoyed playing and played better too.
And the $46 I got for 13th near trebled my pathetically decimated bankroll....

Oh sorry I've obviously touched a nerve, had no idea, I'm completely ignorant to any past arguments involving the word 'decimated.'
I promise that will be the last time I ever use it on this forum!
Gonna go search out the offending thread now......

Heheheh...I rarely use or do anything properly...
However........
From my work's copy of the Oxford English Dictionary, copied word for word:
Decimate vb. –mates, -mating, -mated
1. to destroy or kill a large proportion of.
2. (esp in the Roman army) to kill every tenth man of (a multinous section).
Usage – The use of decimate in as in definition 1 was formerly regarded as unacceptable by careful users of English, but is now by far he most common sense of the word, as in mxyomatosis decimated the rabbit population.
Bad luck and shit play were myxomatosis to my bankroll.........
Hehehe...I admire your efforts at 'careful English' Bonch...but....'American' and 'careful user of English'...hehehe! That's impossible!! A complete contradiction in terms!!
