Default Poker presents for Christmas?

I am just getting into the game of poker, but my brother is a wizz. I was hoping to get him something poker related for Christmas, but it is sometimes hard telling the good stuff from the crap.

He already has plenty of chips and cards. I was thinking more along the lines of a book or video game. Your ideas would be much appreciated? Thanks.

Get him SuperSystem 2, or Theory of poker. Does he have any books? How old is he?

He's 20. I don't think he has any books right now, but I could be wrong. I don't want to ask him too many questions to get his suspicions up. I wanted the gift to by a surprise.

Just tell him you want to learn the game and ask him if he has any books.

I suggest Theory of poker, or Super System when it comes to books.

Alright, those are pretty bad suggestions without knowing a couple things:

One, How long has he been playing? Two, What does he play, and for what limits. and Three, If you got him a book, would he be interested in others, because you CANNOT read just one or two books and be a good player, You really need to encompass many points of view before finding your style.

The answer to ANY poker Question, including what to get a poker player for christmas, is "That Depends"

He has been playing seriously for money in the last year, but probably started about 4 years ago just playing poker with buddies. He doesn't have deep pockets, so he plays relatively low limits. Not sure exactly what games he is playing, but he I know he is at least playing hold em.

Okay then, forget ToP, get SSH (here) and HoH. Those two will have the biggest impact on his game the quickest. Super System (either of them) is only good for Holding things down or Up (I think Bob is holding up a monitor with it) unless you are playing in the BIG games in vegas.

Get Him an account here, thats a good start. And a demo copy of PokerTracker.
