How about another list thread. This one for versions of home games we play. I posted my version of guts in the Gap concept thread but I'll repost it here.

Guts
Guts (as I was taught) is played thus.
It can be played with 1-5 cards per hand, everybody gets the same, a kitty is dealt into the middle. Everybody antes a good amount, usually the equivalent of 1 BB for the night. Then you go around the table, a player is either "in" or "out". Then all the "IN" players compare hands, as long as the high hand beats the Kitty, all the losers pay the winner equal to the pot. IF the kitty wins, all the losers have to match the pot. The deal is then either passed if the kitty won, or the winner gets the deal and you start again. Game ends when you go heads up with the Kitty and win, taking the pot.
We usually played it 2 card, 3 card, or my favorites 3 acrd tud (1 up 2 down), 2 card stud (1u1d). The stud games tend to end quicker.
I've hard of many versions of guts, this is the one I was taught by a bunch of redneck hillbillies (my inlaws)Marm is back, maybe. Been off for 3 years. Rusty as Hell.

Follow the Queen
When I started college, we used to play follow the queen when the game would get tight to loosen things up a bit.
-7 Card Stud game played just like Stud, but the first door Queen left of the dealer or highest door brings in.
-Queens are always wild
-The last card dealt face up after a Queen is also wild.
We played PL Stud, but this game was played limit because it's crazy.

Guts w/o a simoutaneous(sp) declare is stupid

A good game of "357' always loosened our home game up if people got too tight.
Start with the standard ante/BB for your game...deal three cards to each player face down. Threes are wild. Those wanting to contend for the pot must declare in or out at this point, best three card hand wins the pot, losers must match the pot to create the ante for the next level. (Remember, straights beat flushes in three-card poker...remind your players of this to avoid heated discussions after-the-fact).
Round two, anyone who didn't match or win the previous pot antes another BB to be dealt two more cards (everyone has five cards now, the 3 from round one, 2 that they just got dealt)...threes are now normal, fives become wild. repeat the declaration process...best five card hand wins the pot, losers match the pot for the final round.
Last round...again, those that didn't participate in the showdown must ante another BB to be dealt 2 more cards so that everyone now has seven...if your home game has 8 or 9 people, you'll have to deal just one additional card to each player and turn one face up in the center of the table as a "community card." Only sevens are wild this round...anyone declaring "in" pays the amount that's in the pot and whoever can showdown the best five card hand wins a healthy pot that usually makes the night for some lucky soul.
I love the way this game goes through "nuclear escalation" from level to level. Its also great to play if you're one of the more observant players at your table, because you get lots of opportunity to learn what people at the table hold during the showdowns at the 3 and 5 levels before you have to decide whether or not to make the BIG investment at the 7 level. Beginning players love it for the rotating wild card feature from level to level and because it can form a big pot by the final level. Basically, I haven't introduced it to a table yet that hasn't eaten it up as a change-of-pace game. (Note: Its also a really good game to slide in just before the table breaks for the night...the increasing pot size gets some people throwing in desperation money at that one last chance for a big payout to salvage their evening)

We used to play "Midnight Baseball". There are about 1,001 different ways to play but this is what we did. Each player gets 7 cards face down and no one gets to look at their cards. Who ever is to the left of the dealer flips over the top card in their pile. Then the person to their left flips over cards until they beat the 1 card hand. Then the next person has to beat the pervious one and so on. So if person 1 flips a 9, and person two flips a K, person three keeps going until they have either and A or a real hand. After the dealer goes there is a round of betting and then we repeat. The game ends when everyone folds or when all players have turned over their entire hand. We play with something wild (usualy 2's) and then the trickey part: if you ever flip over a 3 you get a free card added to the bottom of your pile. If you flip a 4, you can buy one for $.50 and if you flip a 5 you can buy one for $1. A lot of times the person with a pair of 3's 4's or 5's winds up winning because of the card advantage. This games takes almost no skill but its a fun break after a few hours of no limit hold em.

Home Game Software
Hey when me and my friends get together we usually play Holdem. Just recently a buddy picked up an easy to us poker timer/tourney director. Anyway we liked using it so I thought I'd post the link.

It's cheap, easy to use and you can play any mp3 you want when the blinds expire....
