I think there's at least one pretty good thread on here (probably more) about head's up play I remember reading one where Jason had a pretty detailed approach.

Aggression is the key, and you need to exploit any edges you have, betting on 2nd top pair is often quite common in heads up, its figuring out when the other guy has the top pair or top hand or not.... If you up keep on playing until you lose a few in a row - may aswell keep momentum going.

HoH 2 addresses the endgame of tourneys - including the head-to-head part.
Are these 2-player ring games or 2-player tourneys?

you have no buissnes playing .25/.5 with a 20$ bankroll. Espcially HU! heads variance so high you need like 200 to play .25/.5

Raise.
And can we say "UNDER ROLLED"? You should have at least $150, preferably $200-250 to play .25/.50 HU, due to the much higher variance.
And its limit I take it... So Chip leads HAVE NO IMPORTANCE.

Betting on second top pair is extremely common, in fact it is something I regularly do both online and in UK events and it is a strategy that has done ok for me, although I have come across some horror stories from people I know.
What can I say about the numerous comments on here re having a sufficient bank-roll! I can only agree 100% with what others have said - anything less than $250 bankroll playing $0.25/$0.50 is asking for trouble!
Ride your luck whilst it lasts!
