Are Hold 'Em books for Limit Worth Reading?
If you're playing mostly NL? I know alot of people on here have said that they're 2 totally different games, can/can't be good at both, etc. So I was wondering, since there's really no books out there that focus on NL ring games is there any big benefit to reading Hold "Em books, will they help very much?

I disagree that you can't be good at both.
When you say are they worth reading, do you mean to try and learn limit, or to apply to NL?

Its rare to find someone thats good at both, but its not impossible and yes it is worth it to read a limit book for hold em, if you're going to play limit. Read SSH.

I meant applying it to NL, I'd like to give limit a try in the future but for now I'm trying to focus on learning NL.

Sklansky is supposedly coming out with a book in the spring that deals exclusively with NL ring games. Just an FYI.

if your good at poker it doesn't matter what you play, no limit, limit, hold em, stud, you quickly adapt to the changes in structure. Sure you have a learning curve but if you understand the principles of poker in general there isn't much difference.

So I'm guessing the answer is yes? Reason I ask is there's really no books out there on NL for ring games. I'm looking to get some new books I'm just wondering if I should focus on theory books more, or read books that are written for limit and try to apply them to NL. For example alot of people on here have said that Brunsons Super System is a good over all book but the NL section is outdated. Is something like this worth reading at this point if my main focus is NL. Or would I be better off getting books specifically designed towards limit and try adapting it towards NL?

you will understand a lot of the concepts since they are general over poker. you can also see some angles etc
if you really want to read go ahead read SSH etc but i'd wait for the 2+2 NL book

Well, For PF play, HPFAP is probably where you want to be for NL games... but thats mainly just hand selection.....
