Default Luck or skill?

I know 1 hand of poker is 99% luck and 1 year of poker is 99% skill but i cant tell with me. I play alot of freerolls on absolute. (mayb 20 in total?) 2000 people enter and top 18 get prizes. Anyway ive prize placed twice. I came 1st and 7th. Now what i want to know is if thous two places could just come down to luck or i must have a certain ammount of skill to place there? Im just trying to gauge what stage of tournament play i should start learning at. Thanks for all replies in advance

Well... at least you have to play not to bad to fininsh in the to 20 in a 2000 entrants tounament.

But keep in mind your opponents were probably a bunch of absolute fish... Dont expect to win $$$ MTTs playing the same way you did.

That said if you can addapted to the real money style, read a few books and play your BR with judgement, you will be a winner I guess...

Freerolls won't help you guage how you will play in real money tournaments. I played 800 person freerolls and made the final table or cashed atleast half the time on Bugsys Club. There are tons of fish in freerolls. However, good job on your finishes in those freerolls, you had to have played fairly well to accomplish those places.

I'm a freeroll whore (or used to be) and I think that Absolute's freerolls seems to have better players than other freerolls, for some reason. And no matter how many fish are involved, you're doing something right to place in the money in 2 out of 20 tourneys with 2000 entrants.
