The Saturday curse?
Now, this might be a very bizzare coincidence. But me, my roommate and three of our friends have all kept logs of our earnings in online poker. It turns out, Saturday is by FAR our worst day. Keep in mind we all play on different sites at different times so it has nothing to do with that. We simply added up our total earnings for each day of the week and Saturday was on average 1/5 the size of the total earnings for the other days!
Does anyone else encounter problems on Saturdays? Is Saturday shark day or something?

Weekends are definately the best days to play, all the bad players are generally out. Generally when the sites are most busy, the play is worst.

I actually find Saturdays are my best day!! All my best finishes on multi table tournaments have been on a Saturday afternoon, I've never made a final table during the week!!
I've heard that time zones around the world make a big difference to the softness/hardness of online games. Apparently if you're in the UK evening games are supposed to be easier...if you log on at lunchtime, 1pm sharp, you might catch some loose lunchtime gamblers looking for a fix, but you'll just as likely catch the east coast American crowd, which apparently by and large isn't a good thing! For an American to be playing poker over breakfast he has to be either a pro or someone who at least knows what he's doing!!
It's just something I've read...in my experience I seem to do well in the UK during the day on Saturdays so I don't know how true it is...and I don't know how the times zones might affect Americans themselves....but there is a certain logic to it!
I suppose the answer (and a big reason for keeping a poker journal), is that if you discover a time when you play better, only play at that time!!

OK, three posters say saturday is their best day because there are more players, better games.
OP is saying his worst day is saturday because he is encountering more sharks... coincidence??

some people don't deal well with really fishy players. variance may also be higher - especially if they are more aggressive than your normal players. I do terribly on Party LHE games, I like tables a little more passive.

Does anyone happen to know the Pacific Standard Time to UK time translation? I'm playing at Interpoker right now and always been curious what time it is over in UK(since 80% of the players are there). Thanks guys!

Pacific time is 8 hours behind GMT (UK time).
best time to play UK ppl is probably after 11.30pm (so 3.30pm EST) as most pubs/bars have to close at 11.20, so its when all the drunks log on...and theres plenty of them
on the main topic, i find weekends best to play, esp. in cheap ring games, alot ppl throwing money about...friday and saturday night, and sunday afternoons seem quite good...although i does require staying sober on a fri/sat night
