Default Best way to improve my game..

Well im in poker for the long run, Just found this forum and their are so many questions i want to ask. As a player i play quite tight with a couple of bluffs every now and then. I seem to do okay but i want to improve my game as always. Whens the time to bluff and whens the time to fold. How should i change my stratgey as i move through different limits. I stayed right at the bottom (2/4) cent blinds now i usually hit NL 25 or NL 50 ultimatly i wanner hit NL 100 or NL 400 but i do not believe i am good enough yet. What resources/tips can i use to improve my game?

these aren't really questions that can be answered.

Post some hands you have questions on.

Read and Play and ask yourself questions about why you done well after a session or why you done bad.

Thats all!

Memorize the numbers/math until you know when to call or fold in a heartbeat.

Read a few poker books.

As kingjack said, after each session think about why you did well or why you did poorly. If you did poorly, look at the hand history on some of the hands and figure out what you did wrong and how to avoid it in the future.

Practice, practice and more practice. Obviously, this is the most crucial factor. As you invest more and more hours into poker you begin developing your own playstyle and have faced so many situations(hands) that you know what to do in almost every situation.

I'm actually fairly new myself, but I know these are the key ingredients to making a successful poker player. Good luck to you!

Welcome 2 the forum

Thanks Chief.

Poker is easy, you just gotta know when to hold'em, know when to fold'em, know when to walk away, and know when . . . . hmm . . . where do I get this crap anyway?

If you're into poker for the long run, then it's time to start studying. Why don't you start by getting the Mike Caro DVD selection. I think it's the best way to get beginners better ASAP, and start building that analytical outlook that every good poker player needs.

You can buy all that crap here http://www.carospokersecrets.com/default.aspx

Once you've seen those a couple times (first time through just watch, second and third time through each one you take notes and quiz yourself), then you'll work on the 12 days to hold'em success pamphlet - and do it exactly as Caro lays it out (don't cheat by looking at the end of the section before you go do the mission). After that we'll get you started off with some books (see Chief's recent post on good books).

In the meantime, post hands up and we'll all give you our $0.02 (I charge $0.03 myself).
