I've been playing online for over a year and in home games for a couple months and I've never hit a royal or quads. I have hit a straight flush 2 or 3 times though. However, I've got a buddy who has been obsessed with hold'em on tv and decided he wanted to come play at our home game. He'd never played before in his life but knew the game from tv. He was actually pretty darn good and within 10 hands of each other on his first time playing he hit quad aces and quad fours.lol I told him it wasn't always that easy.

LMAO!!!!! I made the post above and went to play at Party. Started playing sloppy and loosing quickly. As I was about to loose my buy-in, look what happened....... 4 of a kind Jacks!

I couldn't believe it! My luck turned around right there too. I left the table with $38.50.hehe

What are the odds of me playing cards for this amount of time and making a post about not hitting 4 of kind and then less then 30 mins later hitting quads?

Wow! What can I say?

With my two-month experience - I saw quads... two times. :/

if you actually played 100 each day, you expected number of quads would be 17.

you will get a pair 5.888% of the time, and flop hit quads - 0.8% of the time you start will a pair.

If you count the times you hit quads to unpaired hands and the times you fold your pair before hitting the end, it probably evens out.

in a full ring ill play about 1 evry 15 hands. not counting bb,sb and b.s dealer steals. Im not mathematical (beside calculating pots), didnt realize quads are so common.

Think he meant he plays 1/15, not quads 1/15. And thats pretty friggin tight... like 3x too tight.
