Default problems when I double up

Alright everytime never fails. If I buy in with 100 then when I get to 200 I start playing alot looser than I normally do. If I buy in with 200 same thing happens when I get to 400 is this normal play or do I need to force myself to play tight the whole way through? I mean I play bad as in I will play J,3 suited. I have got to where the last five times that I have went as soon as I double up I leave.

If its online just rathole it and play another table for a temporary fix.

Why would you start playing worse after you double up? No reason to. Don't.

no its live and I dont mean to but I go into a different mindstate I am just like will I am up to $220 I will go ahead and call the blind with my K,4 ya never know what might hit the flop. Never would I do this when I am playing like I normally do. so your saying I should still stick with playing my golden 18 or so starting hands. hmm maybe if I cash out down to $100 then I will keep the smaller frame of mind.

basically you start thinking "hm well i'm up so much that calling this blind here doesn't hurt...and calling this flop...etc...cuz i'll still be up". the problem with this way of thinking is that you are now playing poker to stay even, not to make money. poor play is not justified by how much you're up. stick to your game no matter what; if it worked to double you up, it should continue to work; no need to adjust it just because you feel like you can afford it.

on the other hand, sometimes you can use a big stack to your advantage by intimidating people, but that depends a lot on the table and your image and stuff like that.

That's EXACTLY it friend. You obviously know all this, but its self-discipline. You just need to focus and remind yourself that you shouldn't be playing these hands. You're capable of it, just set your mind to it.
