I have been liistening to your dissentions on this ladder for a while, and everytime I ask for recommendations, I dont get any.
Well heres your chance. Tell me how we should do this.
Two rules:
1) Most of the battel.net style servers are automated. I am not automated. Don't suggest a system that requires automatic updates to work.
2) If takes a calculator to do it, I'm not.
The system We're using now is how Boxing is set-up, you work your way to the top by defeating higher ranked players. It just takes a littel time to settle out.

it also allows you to challenge down instead of just up.
For example I'm #7 so i could challenge 6, 5, and 4 OR 8, 9, and 10. So each position should be worth X amount of points so people are encouraged to challenge up.Read my musings on poker and life at PokerNewsBoy.com, and My Poker Blog

Want to keep the 3 rule then? I think we should expand that to 5, or even 10.
MAybe not, the 3 rule is in place (now)since it keeps last place from beating first and automatically moving to first. This point system, you could beat first but only move up a spot or 2, depending on how the points are spread out.....
hmm... this would encourage play, and the more play you have, the more points you have....hmmm....Luck is a Residue of Design.

A 5 rule would be good because it allows you to challenge 10 players but keeps someone at the bottom from moving up to fast without going through the trials so to speak.
1 thing is the rankings should only change once a week like college hoops does. If someone beats #1 on monday and someone else plays this same person on wednesday he is still #1.Read my musings on poker and life at PokerNewsBoy.com, and My Poker Blog

it should be point based somehow
so if you beat someone below you, you can still improve
maybe each battle can be worth x points + a few if they are above you.
