Hi all
Just a light hearted thread this one. Jaybels has asked if anyone will send him an FPP hoody on Stars. I have said I will and I hope to be right. The hoody is 2900 and I told Jaybels my current FPP was 1500 1480 to be precise. I am currently up to 1680 so going well.
Obs the challenge is straightforward enough grind well enough not to go broke etc to get the FPP lol. I don't think there should be any problems with it but this is more of a progress thing for people to see how the challenge is getting along.
I guess its not so much of a challenge with no time so will aim next two weeks.
Day 1 1480-1680.

Hi Jaybles thanks for encouragement will have jumper to you in no time at all. Sesh was going well and dropped 4-5 bi at the end of it which sucked a bit. Its not a problem though and so much of it was my fault.
Lets say variance wasn't helping but I think my mood wasn't right. I also noticed that I took no real decent notes on these players as it is somewhat difficult on Zoom and other than playing good ABC I hadn't really got enough of a strategy.
Well of course what happened at the end of sesh was that other player got to draws where I had second nuts they had first nuts etc lol and then on a couple of other hands where my decision to fold should have been way easier I didn't because of tilting slightly.
But I have been here before and had far worse swings as have gaining experience over time playing I don't get to the stage where I think I will not get it right like I used to and also as I think kills a lot of begginners off.
I have re-evaluated play on different stages and have thought up a few new strategies mainly notes dependant as well as anything that seem to be going okay so far (touch wood) They have sound reasoning so no reason not to work over time they will improve as knowledge of ops goes up.
I mean it really is too bad I always say to know your opponent on here and me not doing it is hyprocritical and costly. I guess as much of the money on Zoom has been quite easy gained I have slacked off a bit. New strats will be much more adaptable and involve a bit more thought rather than churning out hands like a factory unit (this is so easy on Zoom).
I have reason to believe that one the new strat should stop me losing a lot of value and help me to gain more out of ops where I bet too much on obvs boards etc and they can easily fold.

Swings go both ways, tough sometimes heading on the downturn but you seem to be doing great and your reasoning is impressive to say the least
hope you are profitable in the near future!

Hi all. I was really worried that I was going to put it out there that I had a good plan etc and then get really broken on the tables and have to report it here.
That's what happened.
No seriously that's not what happened. I am really impressed with the results need to get a tracker logged with zoom but my winrate has gone up big time. I think time will tell whether this is variance etc but I feel that I have altered my plan significantly and it has payed off.
I have only been in a short session with intensive note taking solid play etc and results have been that I am 1.8 bi down on what I had made day before or otherwise put damage is nearly fixed and sesh going well. I had it wrong I was closer to 1 bi down in total but six on what I had made and it was solid paying off value on nit regs when I shouldn't have been.
I do have to say that there have been a decent amount of fishier players on today and that does have a lot to do with it but feel really good about it all and enjoying challenge.
There is nothing worse than when you start the day down and think what happens if it gets worse?
Also putting more effort in today has done two positive things it has
1)highlighted leaks I still have
2) whether they matter etc (need more balance yada yada)
3) stopped a lot of basic leaks where I know I could do better but have been just straightforward not adjusting due to Zoom's style of play because of playing too many hands per hour/ zombying out not thinking.
As have been playing lower than usual to get used to Stars and like the traffic ratings etc I have been more aggressive by far than I should have been and called down lighter than I should have done, I'm not saying I fish stacked of with q9 on an AK9 board but I gave far more credit for bluffs than should have.
Also part of this is that at certain times on Stars you get a big differences in the level of players and this is a wierd phenom but is a true one you look at other people who play their reporting similar things.
I think this is as much to do with Zoom being a lot nittier as well as different stakes. Back to basics has worked as well as spotting more complicated potential value spots for the future? (we'll see) but at the moment happy with progress. I do say this tentatively as this is early days.

Okay sesh ended 1 BI down on yesterdays profits so obvs not so bad two and half up. Start of session was very good and pots were coming in nicely I think that the fish started to leave towards the end and mistakes from the field went down altogether. Personally I was getting tired towards the end and quality of thought was going down I knew this would be bad in a much more reggy field.
Also more reggy also means more nitty and as me and Steve had discussed the edge in NHLE gets significant reduction at this tme figure in variance and increased need for concentration and it gets tougher.
I think during this time I maybe didn't steal enough pot as I could have done however in some of the bigger hands I succesfully bluffed and on other hands where I would have given value away I didn't so overall much better.
Need a bit of time to process new info gained on ops etc. I would say that there is something to be said for hitting non-zoom side games at certain points in the evening and at other times Zoom is spot on place to be.

Hi Jaybels another set back today but it was repeating the same mistakes, this time with my notes my decisions should have been easier although some of the hands involved were wierd these regs might be nits but they have some odd stuff in their ranges. In any case Its all learning and still enjoying the challenge of course even if the regs grab a pot they can't take the FPPs. Talking of FPPS current status is 1950 so not too bad I guess once 2000 reached on the home stretch lol
