Default Is online poker now legal?

    Hi guys, longtime no see.

My question pertains to an article on the huffingtonpost I read, that online poker might very well soon become legal.

I read that the Department of Justice no longer intends on enforcing laws against internet gambling, except for sports betting.

Does anyone know if this is true or not?

Last time I came on this website, I briefly tried to make an account on one of the websites recommended by the forum members, and found that I could not create an account due to my nationality (United States). I was wondering if now online poker websites, for money, are now taking USA accounts due to this recent policy reversal by the Department of Justice?

If poker online will be legalize in US, that's a good new. I thought there will be no legalization will happen in US. I also heard that Donald Trump is involve in this legalization, I don't know the whole story, just heard from other guys here.

Online poker has never been illegal. Its just that until it can be taxed somehow here in the land of the free (US) the man wants it to be as inconvenient as possible.

For US players I recommend the Merge Poker Network. Carbon, Feltstars, and Lock are all good choices on Merge.

You should read my article "The Truth About Online Poker and Poker Sites". Its on my club site bluegaragepoker.com I'm not linking it because my site has links to poker rooms and that may be considered spam.

Online poker is legal if they are licensed in certain parts of the world. It's ilegal to operate a online poker site in the US, but not to be a customer.

Still illegal to take bets from US players but there are companies get around it by being based overseas. There's risk involved in the player if that company gets seized and it appears a lot of those companies did not payout their players once those accounts were seized.

Alternatively, there are some emerging sites like skillbet that's similar to Duplicatepoker from a few years back that has a different type of poker that may or may not be interesting to some.
