Hey Humans,
Finished reading Super System and I have a question regarding the chart on page 572 table XVIII. It says the odds of being dealt two aces are 220:1. Why aren't the odds of being dealt two 3's or two Jacks also 220:1? They're are four of each in the deck, wouldn't the odds be the same? Other than Aces being the most valuable, they're the same cards.

I know, that's what I'm saying!
Theres four of each rank in the deck, why is it not 220:1 across the board?

One of the charts lists the probabilitys of receiving certain hands. I saw that listed AA as 220:1, but ANY pair as 16:1
My question is aren't the odds of getting AA or 44 or 88 all the same? There is four of each rank.
It's not like theres 4 Aces, but 8 5's. You know what I mean?

See, he made it sound like only aces were 220:1. Damn Doyle!

You so silly. I couldn't get into Supersystem, started reading it and decided it was a jumbled mess.

I read the entire book front to back just as he recomended and will go back and re-read key parts, just as he recomended.
It is very technical, I'll agree. I understand after reading it why it's important to know many forms of poker, not just one game.
