Oh...the facepalm. I think it's fair to say we're all unlucky at times, unbelievably so often! The only time it really bothers me is when the pots are large (i.e. I'm probably playing out of my comfort zone). Try moving down levels and you can smile at the unbelievable bad beats you suffer....
To give you a bad beat story that just made me laugh (Freeroll tourney with 10,000 entrants so wasnt that bothered)

Picked AA on the button. Everybody folded round to the cut-off who went all in with J-8 offsuit. I obviously called and was heads up. The flop...
    8 8 8.

    Unbelievable.

after reading you story it seems that you are fresh poker player> It wasn't a big deal handling your opponent he was making wrong deals and it was easy to beat him. remember it when you are new to games it requires time to understand it and get experienced you are new so don't get disappoint you will start to win when you will get experience and grip on playing game.

I feel your pain bro. I bet with 80% percent odds or higher and play super tight all the time and still manage to lose to fish swimming in the river. Had, KK today, Q high rainbow flop, betting like crazy, next card is 7d, than Ac. Of course the guy has AJ. As soon as it dropped I knew I was doomed but I had to see it.

3 days ago, go in on Ah Ks, flop AK7 rainbow, betting like crazy again, turn 9d, river 9c. Dude has A9 and fucking sinks my battleship.

And last but not least, all in with Ah Ks again vs Qd Qs. Odds not in my favor I know, but its doable. Flop Ad 5h 6d, turn 7d, river Jd. Flushes me. 4 diamonds. WTF.

There was a few other doozies I can't remember off the top of my head. I've dropped $250 bucks in the past 5 days. I've been playing solid, making good calls but can't seem to do anything right.

I'm beginning to think poker caters to dumb people, who don't realize they're beat on the turn and than luck out on the river. In my experience anyways.

But I hope things turn around for you.

---> Colin: That J-8 trumping your aces is a horror story.

    Better luck next time guys!

I dont mind bad beats as such. What i do object to is when i have a premium hand [AA, AK, KK, QQ] in late position, make a raise that is designed to get action from the blinds or the early position limpers looking for 1 of them to push all in and then sucking out 99.87% of the time to trips, straights and flushes when the person who has shoved is holding absolute junk.
Most recent MTT 8 seats. Am in the hijack position with a stack of around 40 big blinds. UTG has called and UTG+1 has called, both with around 30 big blind stacks. I make a raise of 4xBB so have covered the pot. SB folds. BB folds. UTG folds. UTG+1 shoves all in. I snap call with AA. He shows 9 3 off! (WTF) flop 4c 8h 2c Jc 9c. At first i think he has just paired his 9 but no....he has 3c!
It just seems that certain sites favor the donk shove from early position regardless of the stack, hand or player history.
