I've been told that No-Limit Holdem: Theory and Practice is a great book
Never read super system, flipped through it and was like "wtf is this?"

Depends what the one book is supposed to be about...
I love the elements of poker but that's not a strategy book.
The Theory of poker is a classic but isn't specific strategy.
The mathematics of poker might be really good for someone very mathematical (not me).
I haven't come across much that is very good in the 'this is how you beat xxx' department. Video training sites are much better imo.
