Hello Everyone!
I am looking at ordering a custom made poker chip set - I figured you'd know the best place to order them. I am very new to poker - and had to idea there were so many different poker chip styles. I can't decide between clay, ceramic or mimiclay? The clay ones seemed to be the heaviest ones - but does a matter of 3 grams difference feel really different? Standard sets go about 500 chips - I am guessing it would be sufficient - but still don't know. I am sure there have been posts like this before and if anyone could just show me where to look - I'd appreciate that a lot
Thank you in advance

I've been looking into getting some chips again, couple years back I found Home Poker Tourney - How to Run a No-limit Texas Hold'em Poker Tournament and it had quite a lot of info.
Home Poker Tourney - Custom Poker Chips
Home Poker Tourney - Buying Poker Chips and a List of Poker Chip Suppliers
Not sure how up-to-date the site is though, haven't been there in forever

most important consideration when buying chips is the purpose of it's use...
1) Cash game or tournament? Tournaments need fewer chips of each denomination, but it needs more denominations. Cash games need a bunch of chips for each denomination, but fewer denominations... 3-4 denominations for cash games to 5-6 denominations for tournaments.
2) How many players? Obviously the more people in your poker game the more chips you will need. Players like having large stacks in front of them, and constantly having to make change because of small chip stacks slows down the game.
3) How serious is the game? If you are playing for high stakes money, then by all means get yourself a nice expensive set of Paulsons and customize the design to make it all fancy. If you're getting chips for a penny-ante poker game with your buddies then just get a generic set of composite chips that can take a beating from frequent use and are cheap and easy to replace.
Hope this helps...
