About LinkBacksWhats the best way to get backed for live play? I play 1/2 NL everyday at the local casino and have generated a nice bankroll about 6K. I am wanting to go to the 2/5 game and grind it but don't want to take 1k out of my own bankroll to do it. I would be willing to split 70/30 where the backer gets 70% I just don't know how to go about finding someone that would be willing to do it.

Just prove yourself to be a good, reliable poker player and make close poker playing friends, or business associates if you will. Look at it as a poker playing commune. If You win, they win. But if you are going to get backed by someone, expect to back them sometime in the future.

Close poker friends is about the only way to do it. Nobody else is really going to understand. Why don't you just keep grinding 1/2 for a larger roll. If you get a stake you're going to be splitting your winnings 50/50, and that seems like a wash when moving from 1/2 to 2/5.
