Default When you run bad, what do you do?

Lets say you are down 3-5 buy ins at a cash table or you have just lost 4-8 sngs in a row, do you...

    A. stop playing for the day, and hope to trun it around tomorrow.

    B. keep playing and lose/tilt away even more money, then stop for the day.

    C. keep playing until you turn it around and try to get close to breaking even for that session.

    D. other(please explain)

I like to not look at my results for the session when im playing. I used to look every minute or so if I were up/down, but it affected my game too much.
Of course I still have a feeling of how much I've lost. If the loss affects me I try to stop the session and maybe come back later or next day, but if I still feel like im playing well i'll continue.

You need to quit for the day and come back when you're not tilting. Like i told you in chat, cash is a waiting game. Be patient, the cards will come.

Speaking of, I'm still down for this session so I'm going to quit! lol

I take most my bad beats in the same day. If I was to cut my losses and quit for the day then that would have stopped alot of hemerging from my BR... so my advice is to quit for the day.

    D) Stop playing for the day because I'm probably tilted at that point. I do something else until I feel better, like excersice, and have some downtime. Then I go over some past sessions or I study some poker concepts until I feel better and I'm fully confident in myself.

I typically yell and swear, --sometimes smashing an inexpensive peice of office equipment-- followed by swearing off online poker forever and determined to cash out every last dime... but then in the cashier page i always leave enough to sstill play

Stop playing only works if you don't NEED to play. If you are a professional player than this option is out the window.

The thing is that everyone deals with Tilt in their own special way, and if you can't deal with tilt than poker is probably not right for you. I can play mad, disgusted, and angry before going on full-blown life-tilt. Sometimes i even play better when I'm irritated!

I would sum-up this phase of tilt as the one where in 15 minutes your head can be completely clear again --if you are past this point, then yes, it's time to call it quits for a while.

I am new to cash games. I lost 200+ bucks at the casino the other day. It was my AKs vs. A5os. Flop was AA8 turn was a 7 I believe. Lady put me all in at this point, and sure enough, river was a 5. I went and ate my buffet and went home a sad man. Lately I have decided to try learning how to play cash tables online. I started off doing well, I was up 110BB with in the first 200 hands. Then this morning I went down 3BI and couldn't find the nerve to stay at the table. Mostly becasue the first BI was a result of a "badbeat" or bad luck if you will, but the next 2BI, I think I tilted away.

I'm a pretty solid SNG player as I have a 14% ROI in just over 3500 SNG at the $6.50 level. When I run bad on SNGs, sometimes losing 8/10 or whatever it may be, I am usually able to keep playing during that session and break even for the day. I just couldn't keep buying in to the cash table. After losing like that at the casino and losing the 3BI in a row today, I am wondering if I will ever be able to play cash tables...

IPG- perhaps you should stick to SnG's and tournaments. The rising blinds make them entirely different from cashgames. Also BR managment. In a cashgame you need to have atleast 20BI's for the amount you are playing. That means 20x200= 4K minimum
