I seen this type of stuff so much on Pokerstars. Is this how people play poker now days? Is there something I don't know about this game? Why would he keep calling trying to hit his overs? Was I betting to small on the turn? I was just betting for value, but should I have bet more?
I called the river, thinking he chased his A and hit, I just had to see what he was calling with the whole time, thinking he was either slow playing a set or calling all the way down with a strong A. Turns out I had him beat, lol.
Would love some opinions on this. I hardly ever see this type of play on AP. Is AP really that much tighter? I know there are 150k more people on PS at any given time, but still, what is going on?

I generally bet half to full pot. A general rule I read somewhere was "When in doubt, bet 2/3 pot".
Preflop - Might be able to bet 20 more.
You could bet flop a bit higher.
Yeah, turn is WAY too small!
The river Ace is a good bluffcard for him as your "smaller turn-bet" can be viewed as weakness.
I sometimes peel Overs+BDFD equity. Especially at cash when villain has high cbet but low turn aggression.Last edited by KnightofNarg; February 9th, 2011 at 12:22 PM.

Yeah, I was thinking I bet to small on the turn, especially when the A came on the river like that. It's always hard for me to play a hand like KK on the very frist hand for some reason.
But what do you think about his play? Do you think he was right to call the turn, still looking to hit what he must have thought were 2 overs? I just found his play very strange at that point.

For him...
Calling the flop is a bit loose, especially in a 3bet pot, regardless of your <50% pot bet.
Turn is an okay call for him. You're betting 100 into a pot of 430, so he's calling with 5.3:1 odds, which is all right. He can still hit and get some small value from you to make-up odds.
Bluffing river would have been better had he grew a pair and bet like 400-500.
A lot of players play like this, they constantly talk themselves into calls or raises because they might win (Calling stations). Unfortunately, I think we underestimate how BAD some people are, and up taking more passive/weaker lines simply because we're worried they might be strong.
