Because no matter what you've got, you've got a good chance to be better off on the flop. Meaning, it can never be less than 50%.

the key to HU is to Raise Raise Raise.
To be Honest, you don't really need to even look at your cards until the Turn.Marm is back, maybe. Been off for 3 years. Rusty as Hell.

Most players don't adjust their calling rage , so it's profitable to shove longterm if the blinds are high .
Quick example , let's say he calls with top 25% and you shove 45s (same stack 5K , 500/1000 blinds)
75% when he folds you win the blinds (1500)
25% you will gamble - thats 45s vs top25% - 36% equity
36% you win the game
64% you lose the game
0.75x1500 - 1125
0.09x10000 - 900
0.16x10000 - 1600
1125+900-1600 = +425
45s is not a profitable shove if the blinds are only 250/500 blinds . (-137)Last edited by B2BAces; 02-05-2011 at 06:40 AM.

Better chances of winning... yes... AND, alot of people who play HU play because its quicker and easier money to them. Why play a tourney and after five hours deep ur still not guaranteed money? Heads up is an easy double up, alot of HU players just are looking for a quick buck, and are impatient. So that raise could have just been out of impatience.. toss a coin and hope for the best.
