Default back to the grind tomorrow

well after 2+ weeks off it will back to poker tomorrow. I've played maybe 10 hours of cards the last 2+ weeks.

I actually started working part time in the mornings to alleviate my boredom (working at my old health club)

I always said i would make the best unemployed person and everyone told me I would get bored, well they were right, despite 50+ hours of poker a week I get bored since i can't consider it "work" a job yes but work no.

How long has poker been your "job"? My parents want me to get a summer job, and I feel awkward telling them that I make enough on poker, so I guess it's my "job", too. It's wierd when family members ask me where I'm working and I tell them that I don't have a job, which is followed up by where do I expect to get money, and I faintly mumble, "online poker."

yeah i tried to explain to my mom that poker would be a more profitable summer job than whatever dumb mall job i'm gonna end up with, but she doesn't buy it, even though i showed her how i'm tracking what i make an hour and everything. plus she says i can't list poker on a resume. sigh. so looks like i'm selling clothes for the summer...

I hate to say this but I think she's right. There's no harm in mixing your play though ... Do a couple of hours on reloads a night instead of reading/going out. This will maximise your hourly return on poker.

I must admit.. despite my 'prowess' and now notoriety in poker circles... poker stays OFF my resume - It would damage me professionally.

"What do you do?"

I'm an importer exporter working from home but i mainly focus on importing.

"what do you import/export?"

Chips.

just tell family and friends you "have" a job. make something up, retail, whatever and play poker. Hell my grandmother still thinks I work! I don't want to kill her

Hey! Stacking chips IS work and requires dexterity and focus.

Lets see...

-- You use your mind all day

-- You utilize communication skills both verbal and non verbal

-- You manage a large budget

-- You are an entrepreneur (spelling?) AKA a Risk Taker

-- You have a flexible schedule and no cap on maximum earnings

Hows that ?
