hi folks,
as a relative new comer to the game of texas hold'em and this forum there are some things that i dont get,and split piles are one of them!!
to use the party poker world series as a example:-
two players were left in betting, player 1 had 6c and Qc, player 2 had 9h Qd. The flop came down 4s, Qh, 10d. now the commentator said player 1 needed a 6 (understandabley) but also a 4 to split.
so one question is do kickers not count when both players have made two pair with the community cards and there hole cards???
After that the turn was a Qs and the commentator said that other outs were any 10 or ace!
2ND question-why is this

It's the best 5 card hand.

If one player had Q6 and one had Q9

a flop of 4 Q T 4 2 for example would leave both players with QQ44T so they would split
a flop of 4 Q T 2 3 however, whould leave Q9 with QT943 and Q6 with QT643, so Q9 would win in this situation

Yea, all he meant is that if a 4 came up then both players would have 2 pair - QQ,44 and both would use the T in the board to make the best 5 card hand ( b/c neither player would have anything greater than a T it would be split)

Just one other question
in a no limit game-when you set the blinds lets say to small blind £10, and £15 big blind (i know small fry to you big rollers-im a beginner!)-on the second and subsequent rounds of betting is the minimum bet £10 or £15??

oh sorry 1 last request if somebodies raised to lets say £40,if im calling do i just have to put the amount that makes my previous bet up to £40? (£10 previous-£30 to add) its just im sure ive seen a player bet more than the amount he has to and it not being a raise-just calling!or am i being stupid and seing things!!

Mininum bet is big blind. So in a 10-15 game, it's 15.

When you bet 10, and it is raised to 40, you need to bet 30 more to stay in.
