What do you look for in other players ?
Here's a list what I look for (not in this particular order) :
1) tells
2) betting parterns / betting tells. For example, one good player if limped in middle position, ALWAYS folded to a raise preflop. Some other player if betted less than half the pot to just a little little more than half the pot = had at LEAST top pair and value betted.
3) With what he raised in which position. Here I have to admit I have a bit of problems. Depending of the skill level of the player, it gets more harder. The noob, you can narrow the range to high cards, and pairs 10+. The more skillfull, the more diversified the hands. Do you have any tips to help ? Sometimes, I just lose my concentration and don't pay attention to the hand when I'm out.
4) hesitation / response time. What does hesitation mean ? Again, the less skillfull, the more obvious. Ex : insta call = probably a draw and some general stuff like that.
5) Table image. I use my table image very well. Usually, it goes from rock to TAG and after a couple of hours, I can become more looser. People will always have the rock/TAG image in their head has long has I don't become too loose. It goes both ways, again. You can label somebody tag, fish, lag, maniac but it all depends of their image. I wait to see if they ever change gears before making assumptions : they are on a rush or they are really loose players ?
6) bluffing frequency / folding frequency of opponents.
Anything more ? I might have forgotten something
