Default Fuck online poker.

Today I withdrew all of my funds on Ultimatebet via Money Gram and am headed to the casino tonight. I kept some money on to donk around and play the occasional tourney but for now.... I quit.

I also stopped relying on poker to pay my bills. For about two months unless I was way up I felt like this guy .

Oh well, farewell online poker. For now anyways and wish me luck.

online poker is way WAY thougher to beat than live games

1$-2$ at the casino is something like 10¢-25¢ 25¢-50¢ online, no kid

I know exactly how you feel man. Poker for a living is an adrenaline rush for sure. When your doing good you feel like your on top of the world. Then a couple days later you feel like complete shit. That is what I like about it but it can be very rough sometimes. I am currently experiencing my worst cold streak ever. I have lost about $600 lately. You wouldn't believe all the 2-3 outers I have seen people hit on the river the past few days.

Default 2.5

A 2.5k downswing back up to even is what made me change my mind about the online poker world.

on a 10 handed table, the typical picture is this :

-3 solid players
-3 average players
-3 weak tights / know it all / professor that give "lessons"
-1 uber donk

so basically, if you qualify has a solid player, you have 4 players that can you can exploit with a good edge and 3 average players that you have to be a bit more carefull and 2 that you need to avoid

maniacs and LAG's are less common.

depends on the limits you're playing live:

anything under $200 buy-in (this includes limit up to about 5/10 and NL 1/2) you'll have 5 or 6 guys who learned everything they know from mike sexton and vince vanpatten, 1 or 2 newbie type grinders who have somewhat of a clue, and 2 or 3 absolute retards.

anything over 5/10 up to about 40/80 and $500+ buy in NL&PL you'll start seeing more decent players, maybe 4 or 5, and less retards, usually not more than 1 at a table. you'll also start encountering GOOD players, again maybe 1 or 2 at a table. Any more than that and just find a different game.

40/80 and up is usually 5 or 6 really solid players, 1 or 2 people taking a shot at a higher limit (they've either been running well at lower limits or just made a score somewhere else in the casino), 1 or 2 total nits who play only the nuts and lose about 2BB per session, and the occasional donk.

anything over 75/150 I don't know much about, my small sample of 300/600 HOSE included a lineup of gus hansen, an underage d'agostino, and matasow. Gus spewed chips for about 2 hours and matasow let him know he was spewing chips for 2 hours.

The best games live are the 2 and 4 chip games (4/8 limit 10/20 limit [the 4 and 8 chip games like 8/16 and 20/40 are even better if they spread them]) the pots look huge because every bet on the later rounds is 4 chips, you could put in almost a rack of chips on 1 hand! these games are almost always looser than the 1 and 2 chip games (2/4, 5/10, 25/50). Sit me in any 4/8 game over 5/10 anytime.
