I remember someone made a thread about this before but I cba to find it.

It was along the lines of:

Say the top 25% of poker players are break even or above.

The top 15% are the ones who make consistent profit.

The top 5% are the ones who are uber-rich from it (which could be making several dozen $k or several million depending on your POV).

#1 - What would you say the range of people are on this forum? (1% being the worst player imaginable and 99% being a near-perfect player)
#2 - What would you say you are?
#3 - Where do you see yourself being in a year's time?

#1 - 1% - 95% (Total noob who wants to learn finding this place via Google - Eclipse and Wota. I think I can stick Dave in with Eclipse now, on this scale there's only a few % between them now surely?)

#2 - In terms of profit overall <75% because ironically the time when I spent most money on poker was when I was bad at it. As in worse than I am now. Now I'd say I'm above the 75% but not by much, probably just beginning to creep into 80%. I've been running goot live in MTTs having won the best part of £500 this year on £5 and £10 BI tourneys playing about once a week for a couple of months.

#3 - Hopefully if I actually pull my finger out, don't donk about and concentrate on grinding then the mid-eighties.

The only way you could be 100% is if you could see everyone's hole cards.

There is absolutely no way 5% of poker players made more money than Eclipse or even me last year.

Within the group of players who will make say $100k+ this year from poker I would be nowhere near the top 5%, however against the general poker playing public I must be top 1%.

Well get you with your big cock.

I was picking numbers off the top of my head; feel free to adjust the ranges.

imo, eclipse is way above anyone on this forum profitwise, but I don't know exact finances obv.

I'd say:

1. 4-100
2. 85 (if top 15 are making consistent profit)
3. 86?
