I've always wondered if there are people there that actually take notes while playing, as in a notebook or something like that, and if so how do the other players usually react?

I'd be interested too. Is it allowed in live cash or tournaments? I've never seen anyone take notes in Casino.

If I saw someone taking notes in any game where they had less than $10,000 on the table I would take the piss out of them continually with comments like did you make a note of that hand you folded too you big nit to try and stop them getting any action.

LOL Fadi. But seriously if I play with someone more than a few hours and then happen to see them again at another visit I most likely would remember them or vaguely enough.

Haha if you did keep a notebook how in the hell would you remember them. O sir before you leave this table I need a picture your first and last name and birthdate please.

no notes, never saw. It's pretty dumb. I have a great memory so if I ever play players often, I'll have a good picture of them.

Btw, tonight, up 25$ only, again, a bad beat (100$ around).

Ad5d, late position, raise to 12$ (playing the 1$-2$ table)

Flop As10d3h. I bet 25$, player thinks and thinks and calls. Turn Kd. I have top pair + nut flush draw. It's a donkey I already played against.
I push all in, guy had 58$ left. I go I'm not bluffing here. He goes "Let'S see", and calls. He had QhQs. So he needs a jack to hit the str8 but not Jd. Or a Q but not diamond. 4 outs total hits the jack on the river with one card to come.

I was up 100$ at that time. I win this pot, I'm up 200$ and I'm leaving.

Anyway, sucks again.

The point of making notes is not to remember people. Most here will be able to remember live players for years, and also remember their playing styles.

But remembering each action is a totally different beast. Knowing that somebody is LAGish isn't nearly as useful as knowing how he played a draw on the flop or what hands he raised from MP with.

Certainly taking notes may look foolish, but I'm sure it's +EV for anyone without a photographic memory which should be the majority of players.
