Poker help
Hey guys. IF i have Ace,10 the other guy has 7 10.
The flop is 6,7,8,9 and Q.
Who is winning.We almost had a fight over this last nite because the guy said he had a straight plus the pair 7 and he has winning hand.So can you please clear this up for me.And also can you refer me to an official rule to explain this.This is my cuzin and he is still upset so i just want to convince him that he was wrong.

its only the best 5 card hand that counts so that specific hand was a tie as both of u had a straight T high......its irrelevant that he also had a 7.

what about my ACE...isn't that my kicker to take the pot...he has his 7 left so...so shouldn't my ace take the pot..?

Its only the best 5 cards. 5 cards make the straight, the other cards don't count. Both of you have 6, 7, 8, 9, 10.

best 5 cards... if you used your A as a kicker that would be 6 cards. Best 5 cards, 5 cards only.... can only use 5 cards. 6,7,8,9,T is five cards, this is all you can use. Can not use more that 5 cards.
