Default How many SNG's would be considered a good sample?

I am obviuously a newbie so I am playing SNG to start out. I tried ring games and I got destroyed so I turned to SNG. How many SNG's does it take to get a good sample. 500? 1000? Just wondering when I can safely say I suck at those at well and move on to limit.
