Hi Guys,
For those of you who remember me HELLO! I got married 1.5 years ago and I've been working really hard so I haven't set aside time to post, but I started playing again at the end of November. I see a lot of you I used to talk to and post with are still here, so heres a poker update for me. December was good to me. Finished 3rd in a $15 MTT and 4th in a $20 MTT on Stars so my redeposit of $200 leaped to $2700 pretty quick. I donked about $400 off on $100 NL and sent $100 to my friend who is afraid to use ePassporte so Im chillin at $2200+. It feels good to know that I still have legit skills. Looking forward to a probably WSOP trip this year. I may play one of the $1k NLHE events unless I can win some buys on stars when those start up.
Anyway, the main reason for this post is that I've been dabbling in LL Stud 7 lately and I'd like to either start taking up this game or Omaha and would like some book recs for the players here who might play those games.
Ive found
High Low Split Poker, Seven Card Stud and Omaha 8 or Better for Advanced Players by Ray Zee (looks like a 2+2 book)
Seven Card Stud for Advanced Players by Sklansky, Malmuth and Lee
which Im guessing are the best if I want to learn, but maybe there are others that are better. Let me know if you have some thoughts on books or which game would be more fun to pick up, Omaha or Stud (Id want to learn H/L for both so dont worry about that portion unless it makes a big difference).
Thanks,
TRDC

Hey DeCoy, how's it going? How much stud have you been playing? Both books you listed are pretty good; although I've only read portions of each. I would also try finding articles online from pros who specialize in those games. There are some really good ones out there. Anyways, I'm trying to get better at stud and razz myself, so let me know what you find and good to see you on the forums again.

Decoy,
If you want to make money I would probably recommend Omaha ahead of Stud.
1. PLO is pretty popular right now and geting alot of action
2. Easier to multitable since you don't need toworry about dead cards and the like
However, As always I tell myself I would like ot try new games so would be good to have more different hands posted.

I donked of $600 in NL100 and NL50 in the last 6 days. I feel your pain. Im going back to cheapo SnG and MTTs for a bit so I dont tilt. Those are free money for me.
Good luck in school!
Thank you to those who posted. I'll let you know about books. Im thinking Ill get that Stud and Omaha book from 2+2. If it turns out to be over my head then Ill dumb it down, but Im guessing I can skip a lot of shit just from my holdem knowledge.Trons: "...be a winning person first."
