Default Course of Action: Flashing Cards

You're sitting in seat 1 and you can occasionally see the cards when the dealer deals to seat 5-7. Your course of action:

usually I'll tell the dealer openly by announcing the card I saw (so that the person receiving it can tell I'm legit and verify it). I do the same most of the time when I catch a peek on the bottom of the deck (for those rare locales that don't use cut cards still). yes, it pisses some dealers off, but the way I see it, its an integrity of the game issue...the dealer's action shouldn't tilt the odds for/against me. (as compared to seeing the cards in the hand of the player next to me because he insists on peeking at them by holding them up at arm's length to view them every hand...which I'll keep quiet about all night long)

I was playing in a home game once and my friend who was sitting next to me told the guy who was dealing that he just saw the last 5 cards that were dealt.

The dealer goes something like, "No way, I'm not dealing that sloppy."

My friends points to the cards that are face down and goes something like, "5 of clubs, A of spades, J of hearts, 2 of hearts, 6 of spades." And he got them all correct.

That'll learn 'em!

I'm playing a little devil's advocate, but I fail to see any difference. You happend to be at the right place at the right time, you are not going out of your way to do it, it just happens.

I think those are two very different examples. You shouldn't be able to pick up information on a hand from the dealer. If a player exposes his own hole cards.. well thats his fault..

I agree with you bonch, but I still think it is a similar principal. you are profiting from some one elses mistake, in a home game I would tell the dealer, in casino, I am not so sure.

May wait until the end of the game and tell a floor person on my way out.
