Default Dedicated player with Time, a Fiery will, and Knowledge

Hi,

Before I make my proposal I’d like to write a little bit about myself, and my background as a poker player.

My name is Dmitriy Strunin, and I was born in the USSR on December 5th, 1985. I moved to new york city in 1991, and have been living here since. I was introduced to poker in November 2005, and started playing on full tilt in January 2006. I played a few hours a day and built my bankroll from $50 to $450 playing .5/.10 NL and .10/.25 NL. Not having studied the game much and only reading 1 book I was not very skilled in the game, and tilted off my bankroll in 1 day.

After taking a break from poker I returned to online poker and started playing in June 2006. I turned $100 into $950 by the end of august playing a few hours a day. From .5/.10, .10/.25, .25/.50, and 1 / 2 limit. After cashing out most of the money I once again stopped playing poker and went back to working part-time and fulltime.

In December 2006, I turned 21 and went to Atlantic City w/ $600. I played 2/4 limit in the Borgota and fully crushed the game to make $140 after about 12 hours of play. My passion for poker was rekindled; I really loved playing in a live setting. Unfortunately I had no real bankroll, and no way to play regularly as AC was a two and half hour away drive from my house in Queens. I would have played online, but since the law came out, it discouraged me from building any sort of serious bankroll.

In January 2007 I was very fortunate to meet an old friend that flew to NYC from California. He introduced me to many of his old friends and that led me to get my foot into the poker world of NYC card rooms. It was a dream come true. I’ve been playing 3-4 times a week at a local card room since January 2007, and it has been a great experience so far. Coming from online poker, I had, and still have, a lot to learn about live play. On top of that, the stakes I play live are much higher than any stakes I have played online. My bankroll skyrocketed in the first few weeks of play, but as soon as variance kicked in, and I started spending some of my bankroll money, without 20 buyins it was hard to sustain myself. I befriended a dealer and the current manager of the local card room, so I currently have the privilege of playing on credit with his bankroll. My total winnings at the local cardroom are the following according to the records I’ve kept and stored on cardplayers poker analyst.

Cash Game Count :
33

Total Won/Lost :
$1,076

Total Hours :
114h 45m

Average / Hour :
$9.38

Wins :
21

Losses :
12

Std. Dev. (Amount) :
$299

For the past 4 months, poker has been, and continues to be, my LIFE. I have watched all the poker shows on TV, have read the following books : Super system, Theory of poker, Small Stakes Holdem, Tournament poker for advanced players, Harringotn on holdem 1 and 2, Ace on the river, Cash game holdem by Antonio Esfandiari, Doyle Brunsons wisdom of a poker champion, professional poker by mark blade, Joe Navarro’s book of tells, currently reading mike caro’s book of tells. My dedication to poker is unshakable, failure is not an option, and I plan on becoming a great player. I realize how much work it takes, and I have the time and the motivation to put that work in. My love for the game drives me to become better every day, and I constantly study and think about poker.

I recently made a decision to return to online poker and build a real bankroll, in hopes that I can play the bigger games online, and the bigger live games in the NYC area. I plan on playing 6-8 hours a day in addition to the live games that I play. I don’t plan on quitting. My part time job and my family is supportive enough so that I don’t have to work a 9-5 job.

The one thing that has helped me become better previously is a coach. My friend who introduced me to poker did a great job teaching me, and I had a lot of “aha” moments with him. I am looking for someone to coach/mentor me right now for online and live poker. I feel like I can be much better, and I know that I love poker more than 95% of most of the players out there.

I would like to be coached by someone who has 10/20 nl experience or more, as some of the local card room games play like 10/20 nl games. I currently don’t have enough money to pay for a coach hourly, but I am willing to pay you 6k after I build my online bankroll to 20k. I don’t care about the money, Im just looking for the knowledge and skill that will make me a great player. Im sure many of you out there have been to the point that I am at now, and you can imagine how much better it can be if you had a coach then. I don’t care about the money, the incentive for you to coach me is negotiable. As long as I can acquire the skills through your coaching I will be forever in your debt. My AIM is “dimeetrees” and my email is dstrunin@gmail.com . My word is bond that you will receive the money, even in small increments if need be.

Regards,
Dmitriy
