Default Live Game Arguement

Hi Guys,

Picture the scene........ Live tournement, heres what happened...

18 Left (134 start) and I am around 4 or 5 in chips.

2 folds round to me and I look down and see AA. I make a standard raise of 3 time the big blind and the next 2 players to my left call me. Folds around to the big blind (old man of about 65) and he goes to pick up his cards and knocks one of them onto the floor and the other into his lap.

One player informs him that his cards are now dead, which he accepts, and then another player (not in the hand) says out loud that we have a "misdeal" and pics up another players cards and puts them into the muck and then tries to take mine.

I obviously held onto them and the guy whose cards have been chucked in calls the floor. Floor comes over and rules that as someones cards have gone into the muck we should all take our bets back and deal again.

I argued that something should be done about the player touching other cards and that the hand should be played out without the players whose cards are in the muck....

Any idea if the floor was right or what should have happened???

Guy who knocked his cards off the table has effectively folded, his cards are dead. You just continue on from there, no need for a re-deal as far as I know. And yeah the guy who grabbed the cards should have been warned about doing that before a ruling had been made.

However once the floor rule, not alot you can do I'm afraid.

Guys whose cards hit the floor/lap is dead. The dealer should show every player the 2 cards and play goes on. As far as someone touching other cards I would say "STOP". Let the dealer do his job.

That player should be given a penalty for touching other peoples cards in a live hand. someone grabbing my cards would set me off big time. I'd call the floor, the floor manager, cardroom manager, etc.
