Default Friends Poker Tournie Scenario

Alright everyone.

Me and a few mates are trying to organize a two day poker game for eight of us.

This is an email i received from a friend who is planning on hosting the game.

First Game (Day One)

8/10 players start off with 15,000 in chips.

Blinds are raised every 25mins

Antes of 100 after the first hour and a half and are doubled every 45mins

We play until we are down to four

After we are down to the last four players, we count our chips to see who comes in what position and identify what chip stack they will start off with in round 2.

Second Game (Day Two)

4th position start: 15,000 chips
3rd position start: 20,000 chips
2nd position start: 25,000 chips
1st position start: 30,000 chips

Blinds are raised every 30 mins and no antes will be introduced.

2nd place takes 20%
1st place takes 80%

Can someone tell me what they think of this setup for a game?

Any feedback would be great!

what is the blind structure? is it no limit?

why make the tourny 2 days for 8 people? why not just play a couple of tourneys a day?

why make positions and rearrainge the chip stacks? why not just having the four play with the chips they won on the first day? you're taking 30,000 chips off the table from first day to the second.

Yea, that's definitely an odd set up.. It kinda rules out anything done in day one as 5k chips between 1st and second doesn't seem like much of a lead. Let's say someone ended day one in 1st with 45K they are penalized in this structure.. just goes against anything I've ever heard of. It's like getting a 95 on an exam and the curve lowering your score..
