Default B&M Etiquette

Was playing $3/$6 limit at a card room last night. Was in the SB with A6s and it was folded to the blinds. Dealer asked us if we wanted to chop, I told the BB I had play and he nodded, so I called and he checked. Ace came on the flop, so I led out and he folded.

After that, I was berated by two other players (not the BB) saying I should have just chopped it. I don't think I was in the wrong, since he nodded. Not to mention, he only lost his blind, not that big of a deal.

Would you chop here?

There is absolutely no reason why you should have to, or be expected to chop here. That is completely stupid to be berated for not chopping. What if you had Aces? Fuck those guys. Some people act like there is no reason to play heads up in that type of situation. Ignore those morons.

For someone who has no idea whatsoever about Limit, can you guys explain what "chopping is" ??

when the SB and BB are the only two left in the pot, the dealer often offers a chop (giving the SB his ante back as well as the BB's ante) this is done to often speed up the action at the card table.

on the other note, fuck those guys for berating you about not chopping. its your blind and decision wether to play the pot.
